Things To Consider When You Are Looking for a Matchmaker

Posted on December 30th, 2007 in Dating Tips - Women, Dating Tips - Men by

You ideally want to find a matchmaker that does the interviewing and the matching. This is of utmost importance and is what separates matchmakers from other dating services. You will not only get the matchmaker’s undivided attention, but will also enjoy better services because they will have a personal stake (their reputation) in your successful love match.

You might also want to choose a matchmaking service that doesn’t have a host of employees. A small matchmaking service will give you the personalized service such a delicate situation calls for as well as suggestions for improving your compatibility.

You also want to be sure that your matchmaking service has the caliber of people you are interested in meeting on file. You don’t need the services of a matchmaker that doesn’t offer you dates with the type of person who could be a potential mate. For instance, if you are a college professor, you may not feel comfortable dating someone with little or no college education.

Using a matchmaking service run by just one or two people will often give you the best service for your fees. Ask around and see if any friends can recommend any professional matchmakers in your area.

How to End a Bad Date

The night is almost over. Your date has not gone well, and you’re truly dreading the good-bye and the expected goodnight kiss. Men are not very good at reading the signals that women give out, so don’t assume the guy knows you are really not into him. Most men will need you to tell them, gently but firmly, you are not interested in seeing them again.

Of course slipping out the back door is not an option, though it may seem attractive. If you have no intention of ever seeing him again, being nice may not work. He may take your niceness for interest. So what do you do when you have reached the point when it is time to say farewell?

The first thing you should do, especially if your date has treated you to dinner or other activity, is to thank him. You can gently explain point blank that you don’t feel any chemistry between the two of you. Don’t offer the lame explanation that you can still be friends, unless you truly want to be friends with him. It is best to cut things off right away so you don’t give him false hope later on.

Don’t give in to a goodnight kiss because you feel badly. This too may give him promise that you may eventually change your mind if he is just persistent enough. Ask him nicely not to call you again and wish him luck in his life and his quest for love.

Sometimes being cruel to be kind is the only way to go when you are out with someone you have absolutely no interest in dating again. Men can be quite tenacious and continue to call if you give them even just a glimmer of hope. So though you may feel like a rat, be honest and tell him you are just not interested in pursuing the relationship any further.

Breaking Up is Hard to Do

If you are in a relationship that is causing you more pain then pleasure, you should sit down and make a list of things you want to be different and how you can go about achieving that. It may help you to decide if the relationship is worth your time and effort.

How to Say Goodbye

You can’t just disappear into thin air if things aren’t working for you and your partner. Sit down with them and tell them how you feel and allow them to respond. You want your break up to go smoothly as is possible, without any recriminations.

Avoid laying blame, whether on yourself or on the other person. Be honest about your feelings and begin sentences with, “I feel,” rather than “You are.” If you talk it out, you may be able to pinpoint what went wrong in this relationship, and try to avoid making those same mistakes the next time around.

Look to Yourself First

If this isn’t the first time you have had a break-up, it may be time to ask yourself some serious questions such as, “Am I following a pattern?” It may be that your relationships all run the same course and end the same way. If you find this to be true, looking for patterns can be a way for you to avoid heartbreak in the future. Do you always pick unattainable people and then feel morose when they can’t give you what you want in a relationship?

Taking some time to reflect when you have ended a relationship is always a good idea before you begin looking for another partner. You have a better chance at success with the next person if you take the time to do a little self examination after a break up.

The First Kiss

Posted on December 9th, 2007 in Dating Tips - Men by

Men are not always aware of the significance that women place on the very first kiss. To put it in a perspective that might be easier to understand, when you kiss a woman for the first time, she decides right then and there if you are ever going to get the chance to kiss her again. There are usually no second chances for a guy if he fails the first kiss test!

If you want to plant one on her lips that will leave her breathless and begging for more, there are a few simple things you can take care of before you are ready to go for the gold.

  • Be sure that your breath is fresh. Floss and brush thoroughly before you go out.
  • Try and get a sense if she is feeling the same way. You can reach out and touch her hair and tell her how lovely it is. If she smiles, you can feel confident that you may touch it again, only this time, glance between her hair, eyes and lips. If she allows the contact, you can be sure that she is hoping to be kissed.
  • Be confident about yourself and in control of the situation

Make it a Memorable Kiss

To make a kiss memorable, a woman likes a man that will look deeply in her eyes before he takes the plunge. Making that all important eye contact will be something that will linger in her mind long after the kiss is over.

Be gentle. Though a woman likes a man to ravish her every now and again, nothing says romance like a first kiss that starts off slow and gentle. If both of you are feeling some passion, let the kiss become fiercer naturally.

Make sure you use your hands to caress her. A woman loves to be caressed and this is especially true when they are kissing. Just be sure that you stay within proper boundaries for your first and most important kiss!
